The Kintradwell wind farm proposal involves larger turbines than the existing windfarms at Kilbraur and Gordonbush and at much higher altitudes on the top of the ridgeline, they will overlook Brora from the north west and will also be clearly visible from the A9 and from Embo, Dornoch, Portmahomack, the hills of Rogart, Kinbrace and points even further afield.  This development does not follow the established pattern of development and will have a wide visual impact on the coastal scenery of this part of East Sutherland.

The map below shows where the turbines are proposed to be sited. Below the map are professionally adapted monochrome versions of the Applicant’s viewpoints from The Doll and Lower Brora to show clearly the extent and parts of the proposed turbines which will be visible on our hill horizon.  Monochrome presentation is recommended under The Highland Council Standards for proposals which are partially screened by landform (4.10).

Further viewpoints have been prepared by the applicant and they, and other documents can be found at

www.energyconsents.scot/ApplicationSearch.aspx, click on Simple Search, enter 'Kintradwell Wind Farm' then click on application (Reference ECU00002217) and then documents.  Towards the end of the listed documents you will find the ‘THC’ visualisations.
